In the "gradient header" example, 'header-bg.gif' is referenced in the css, but the image is not supplied, so we can't replicate the example. ie. if we're trying to create an example that looks like "Image 7", we'd need to have "header-bg.gif" on our systems too. But because the tables shown are frozen screenshots, the file isn't on your system (or at least not in the same directory as the blog entry). It would be good if you can include a link in your entry to the header-bg.gif file, so we can replicate the example.
